Technically advanced, next-generation 3D and 2D dental imaging for comprehensive diagnosis.

What is OPG & CBCT?

An Orthopantomogram (OPG) is a special X-ray used to obtain a complete, panoramic view of your jaws and teeth. The OPG unit is a spectacularly designed machine that rotates for approximately 20 seconds around the patient's head during the procedure.

The Cone-Beamed Computed Tomography (CBCT) is an advanced technology that takes 3D images of the maxillofacial bones, nerves, maxillary sinus and teeth. It works similarly to the OPG, rotating around the patient to capture highly accurate 3D images. CBCT machines use cone-shaped x-ray beams to measure jawbone depth, density, and width to 0.1mm accuracy.

FAQs

1. What is Dental Imaging?

Dental Imaging is a scan that is specifically done to detect medical issues of the teeth and gums. The scan can detect dental infections, abnormal growth, and musculoskeletal disorders of the teeth and jawbones. It is also used to check the structure of the teeth and the blood flow to the oral cavity.

2. What is the duration of OPG?

The OPG process takes no more than five minutes. You must follow the instructions given by our technician and stay still until the procedure is done.

3. How is dental CBCT used?

A dental CBCT is used as a traditional dental x-ray. Your dentist will use it to study the images of your teeth and identify any underlying issues.

4. What happens during a CBCT scan?

The CBCT scan does not require any major preparations. Our technician will position you in front of the scanning machine and place your head at an angle conducive to the scan. The motorised scanner will move around your head and capture a series of images.

5. What are the benefits of a dental CBCT?

A dental CBCT reveals in-depth information about your oral health. With this information, your dentist can diagnose any underlying issues and decide on the right treatment.

6. What is the duration for a CBCT test?

The entire procedure takes only a few minutes, during which our technician will position your head in a specific manner as the machine rotates and captures the images. However, you may have to wait for some time to get the reports.
